Payment Method

Once the committee has submitted the club’s teams to the NEJTA for grading, an invoice will be sent out for each player via the online platform Square.  This enables payment of the registration fee online.

Membership Fee

To be eligible to play junior competition, your child/children must become and/or remain a financial member of MPTC for the entire season.

Your child/children can become a financial member of MPTC by either:

  • Applying for a Junior Membership for each child

  • Applying for a Family Membership which will cover 2 adults and 2 children, with an extra $5 for any additional children

Note that if you opt for a Junior Membership, each child will require a separate membership.

For further information on memberships, including instruction on how to become a financial member of the club, please visit https://www.millparktennisclub.com.au/membership-ta/.

Volunteer Roles

Junior competition is not possible without volunteers. The Club has a Junior Coordinator (Paul Vassallo) who acts as the liaison between the NEJTA and the club.

Club coaches are responsible for acting as Home Court Supervisor, who:

  • Open the courts and clubhouse prior to play

  • Mediate disputes on court in relation to score

  • Mediate other disputes, and ensure parents and players are abiding by the association’s Code of Conduct

In addition to the roles above, a parent/guardian from each team will be required to be the team manager for their team. All team managers will be given an induction to help prepare them for their role. Additionally, the Junior Coordinator is available to assist with any questions they may have.

The responsibilities of the team manager are to:

  • Ensure all parents/guardians are aware of the team’s roster.

  • Escalate any player unavailabilities to other team managers and the Junior Coordinator to organise a fill-in player.

  • Ensure the canteen is run when your team is rostered to.

  • Ensure game scores are entered into the team’s scoresheet.

Best practice for the Team Manager role includes:

  • Setting up a Whatsapp group with all parents/guardians in your team.

  • Monitoring the Whatsapp group created by the Junior Coordinator.

  • Monitoring the Whatsapp group created by the Junior Coordinator.

Selection Process

  • The selection process is based on player’s statistics that each individual player gains from the last season of tennis at the time of the MPTC Junior match committee meeting
  • For new players registering; the committee may require new players to play a grading match against a current Mill Park player, to ascertain what standard they are
  • Once teams are graded by NEJTA, the decision is FINAL and CANNOT be changed by clubs
