No Access to Club Rooms

Given the current situation regarding COVID-19, the recommendations from Tennis Australia requires local tennis clubs to clean all surfaces, such as counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, and tables, at least once a day. Mill Park Tennis Club do not have designated cleaners in order to comply with this recommendation and therefore effective immediately we have no choice but to close the club rooms to all members and guests until further notice.

We apologise to our members for any inconvenience but given the current global situation the health of all our members and guests is paramount.

The committee thanks you for your patience and understanding.

NEJTA Autumn Season 2020 COVID-19 Update

The NEJTA Committee have decided to not cancel the season, but rather suspend the season, with no Round 7 matches to be played on the 21st of March. The Round 7 matches will follow the same rules as the cancelled matches in Round 6, i.e. the premiership points will be split evenly among teams, effectively following the same rules as if the matches had been washed out. The NEJTA Committee will reconvene on Monday the 13th of April to review the commencement of the Autumn 2020 Season subject to the status of the CORVID-19 pandemic. The outcome of this decision will be issued in a statement to all member clubs on Tuesday the 14th of April. The NEJTA will continue to monitor State and Federal announcements during this time.

You can read the full statement from NEJTA here

DVTA competition matches to continue

At this stage the DVTA intends to continue with all its competition matches. It is believed that the nature of DVTA competition matches is such that they present very little risk of players infecting one another.

Players may be required to modify some of their behaviours. For example,

  1. Not shaking hand but verbally acknowledging one’s opposition.
  2. Forgoing or modifying any post match social interaction
  3. Travelling to matches independently rather than sharing a car; particularly for junior matches.

If an individual player is concerned about playing then they should withdraw from the team and notify their Club accordingly. The Club can try to arrange alternative players.

New Courts at Mill Park

Mill Park Tennis Club | New Courts 2019

Our committee is very excited to announce that our new courts 5 and 6 are now available to use at our Mill Park location.

Members will be able to access all courts using the main entrance gate. All internal locks on gates will be removed giving members access to the area surrounding the clubrooms providing with shade/shelter and access to outside tap.

The new walkway area between courts 4 and 5 will remain as crushed rock for the time being due to the ground level difference between courts 4 and 5.  This is why Council where unable to concrete this area.  Run off would have flooded court 5 and caused significant damage.  But this area will eventually be concreted, when courts 3 and 4 are upgrade in the near future.
